Crop water use estimation of drip irrigated walnut using ANNs and ANFIS models

Walnut trees, as well their fruits, represent an important sector of the agricultural industry and cultivation significantly contributes to global economy. Irrigation is a key factor in walnut most problem related accurately estimating need for irrigation water. water use was estimated this study through artificial intelligence methods Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) using meteorological data western Türkiye, which has semi-arid climatic conditions. Probabilistic scenarios based on maximum, minimum average temperature, wind speed sunshine hours over period 2016-2019 were developed tested with ANNs ANFIS models estimate evapotranspiration. Results indicate that optimum performance training testing obtained from fourth scenario R = 0.95 two climate parameters -sunshine duration mean temperature-. Both able predict crop obtaining high correlation number parameters. Nevertheless, model had higher predictive capacity, smaller MSE (0.36 0.29 testing) compared model.
